Baked Oatmeal

Warm and delicious -- perfect on a chilly day. (recipe from happyherbivore.com)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup instant oats
  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup nondairy milk or water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground cardamon (optional)
  • 1 pinch ground ginger (optional)

Directions

  2. Preheat oven to 350F.
  3. Combine all ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
  4. Transfer to an oven safe-dish and bake about 30 minutes, until thoroughly warm, a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and its a little crusty on top. (The oatmeal will also puff up a bit).
