This delicious rice dish is often served in North Indian homes on special occasions.Pulao is like the quick and easy recipe. It is simple yet tasty!! try it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup White Rice, soaked for 15 minutes, drained
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder(or to taste)
  • 1/3 cup Green Peas
  • 1/3 cup Potato, Cubed
  • 1/3 cup Cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 cups water

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker; add bay leaves, cumin seeds, Red chilly powder, turmeric powder, rice, and salt; saute for 2 - 3 minutes
  2. Add hot water and chopped vegetables in the cooker
  3. Stir the Pulao well for few sceonds and close the pressure cooker.
  4. After 3 whistles turn off the gas and wait for about 5-8 minutes.
  5. Finally, Release the pressure and transfer the pulao onto a serving platter.
  6. You can garnish it with coriander leaves, if you like.
  7. Serve hot with mango pickle or coriander chutney(sauce).
