    Hello Alicia,

I like to snowboard during the winter months. When that’s not possible I just like to hang out with a nice cup of coffee. BTW, I have been spreading the vegan message and have helped two of my sister go vegan!

  • amy

Hi, I have a heart condition and MCS, so I don’t get outside very much. I do sit out and watch the birds, trees, and flowers, and wildlife when weather is okay, and would love one of these jackets to wear~!

  • Kayla Kirkland

I have family that lives in Wisconsin and we like to head up there when it snows. We love building snowmen and staying warm by sitting around the fire pits outside. Being from East Tennessee, we get snow but nothing compared to the North -ha! Our Aussie’s love it!!

  • christophersorel

Enjoy pond skating and sledding. Took kids yesterday and well back is little sore today. Nothing beets a winter hike as well

  • Dawn Gadon

I love to walk my dogs in a snowstorm, the world seems so peaceful and they are so playful in the snow. This coat looks perfect for that!

  • Kirsten Antony

Here in Colorado, there are so many winter activities to choose from that are fun! Tubing in Winter Park is great and Ice skating on Evergreen Lake is super fun too!

  • Lisa Cressey

i like to take walks in the woods and go cross country skiing!

  • megan norman

Ice skating. Also, something I did for the first time this year, Candle-light walk at a nearby State Park on New Year’s Eve! Very fun, no matter the cold and snow!

  • Heather Hart

My husband and I live in Arizona, so we love to hike up Camelback Mountain when it’s cold, or head up to Sedona when it’s snowing. Anyone who hasn’t seen Sedona in the snow hasn’t experienced the true beauty of nature! We feel so blessed to be able to spend time outdoors so often living here.

  • krystal zielinski

I live in Detroit…This is perfect for our COLD winters…I enjoy building snowmen (Im a grown kid) lol

  • Rachel Beaudet

Love the coats! I would love a thoroughly vegan coat to go on my winter walks.

  • Marie Garcia

When it’s cold out and snowing, I like taking a trip up to Big Bear and go snowboarding! :)

  • Leslie Snare

I love to go ice skating with my kids and of course, a good run in the winter can be invigorating :)

  • Stephanie

I live in Boston, so it’s super cold during the winter! Although I prefer indoor activities during the cold weather, I must say my favorite outdoor activity is ice skating! Frog Pond in Downtown Boston is my favorite place, and getting hot chocolate after makes the experience even better :)

  • Destini Skye

My grandma lives in a cabin in Northern California that I visit often to take care of her. When it would snow, we would always go sledding and ride on their snowmobile. Sometimes the snowmobile would get stuck on hills – It was freezing, but it was so much fun! My grandpa passed away a little over a month ago. When I was a little girl, he made me the most perfect igloo out in front of the house. There was even a wall going around it shaped like bricks. I don’t know how he did it. People were so amazed that they were stopping in their cars to take pictures. It’s nice to have memories like these to look back on and remember him by.

  • Alexandria Thibodeaux

I like to play in the snow! Whether it’s sledding, making a snow man, or just running in the parking lot of my apartment complex, making foot prints everywhere, I love to just be in the snow. I also like to go on walks in my neighborhood park with my hubby when it’s cold and/or snowing :)

  • Pogonia

I am elderly and usually freezing. I just like being warm enough to enjoy taking a walk in the cold winter air!

  • Sara G

My family and I live in the Chicago suburbs where there are extensive forest preserves and paths. We love to hike in the snowy woods with our kids and dogs, or head up to Warren Dunes in Michigan to see the frozen lake. We actually prefer winter hiking because the woods and trails are less crowded and you can see some pretty cool animal trails.

  • Sil Langstroth

    I love to ski!

  • MaryD

    I enjoy hiking and skiing!

  • Sierra Kluson

I love Columbia!! I love being outside all year round but I grew up in Florida so I’m kind of a wimp with the cold! Once I put on my many many layers, hiking and snow shoeing are my two favorite activities. I feel the most connected with nature when I can just wander through the wilderness at my own pace :)

  • Melody

I LOVE taking my kids and dogs to the parks in Delaware when it’s hot AND cold! We love to watch the geese and look for bugs!! We love bugs.

  • jessesgirl7

I love cross-country skiing but sad part is, I live in Miami :( however, I’d give this jacket to my mom because she lives in Colorado and it’s always cold there during the winter 😉

  • Tina B.

I like to snowboard in Mammoth when it’s snowing! It is so much nicer than Mt. High and Big Bear with its wide slopes and no crowds.

I like to go hiking when it’s cold because most SoCal hikes don’t have shade.

Lastly, I like to go to the beach even when it’s cold. Actually, all year round. For bonfires, yoga, volleyball, bike ride, or just a stroll.

  • Molly Gram

I live way up high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is absolutely beautiful here, but our winters are long, snowy, and very very cold! These jackets look warm and cozy. :)
    Thanks Alicia – so fun!

  • Dina Banks

i used to snowboard and do all kind of extreme sports in russia when i was young, now with 2 children sledding down little slope in the park next door brings just as much joy and satisfaction :) and running up and down the hill keeps everyone warm )) when it snows ,my kids love to catch falliing snowflakes with their mouth and the next day make snowmans and snowangels of course!

  • Sonja Hilton

    Walking in the rain

  • Toni Gandel

What a lovely thing to do Alicia! I have not one but two of your cookbooks. One that I lend out as often as possible and one that never leaves. Thank you for bringing awareness to why we can live compassionate lives as healthy and happy vegans. XO

  • Stephanie S

I love to go hiking in the cold weather. There’s not much snow where I live, but when I visit relatives during the holidays, I love going skiing! But hiking and long walks are my favorite thing to do in the cold. :)

  • http://compassionatetummies.com Mama Tummy

I love this coat and I love playing in the snow with my daughter, making snowmen and snowballs to throw at daddy.

  • Erica Sullivan

I’ve been meaning to get back into ice skating for fun. Here’s the real reason I would like the chance to win: My Sister Samantha and my Sister in law Acacia would benefit greatly from these jackets because they have children who love to play outside and need something warm. Plus, the S-M would fit them and not me, but I’m working on it. 😉

  • steph oliver

I usually start dreaming of sunny, warm places come February, but this year, I wanted to try and appreciate the winter and its beauty. So I went on a winter themed trip. It was more environmentally friendly and cost-effective than flying off to an exotic place. When I was there, I made it my mission to hike to waterfalls, cross country ski, and snowshoe. Frozen waterfalls are so magnificent! I was worried to go on a winter-themed trip because it seems like everyone but me enjoys downhill skiing, but if you walk slowly through the woods on a sunny, winter day, surrounded by snow and rabbit tracks, it’s magical!

  • Sherry Stenehjem

Building a snowman with my kids—my favorite!

  • tammy

I like the briskness of walks thru the woods when it’s cold. the air feels so clean and fresh.

  • Shannon

I don’t like the child’s or the snow, totally a summer girl! But, my dogs LOVE the snow and love to stay out and play. It’s all fun and games till mommy is frozen

  • Melissa F

I like to hike or take walks in the local park when it’s cold. I bundle up warmly and then it’s not too bad. I would love a new winter coat to keep me warm!

  • Harmony

Making sweet snow angels, of course!!! Thank you for the consideration:)

  • Krysta Vollbrecht

I love playing the snow with my daughter! We make snow angels, and snow animals (like snow dogs!)

  • Shelley Smith

Zipping down the mountain on a snowboard makes my heart happy! Nothing beats “snowflakes that stay on your nose and eyelashes” :)

  • Ali

My favorite thing is to watch my 3 year old daughter and two dogs run, roll, jump and play in the snow. Whether its shoveling, making snow angels, attempting to build Olaf, ice skating, or skiing.. we love being outside in the snow and cold together…followed by a hot chocolate inside afterwards!

  • bbqutie

Hi Alicia! This sounds counter-intuitive, but my passion is horseback riding. And although my stables’ indoor arena is not heated, we ride year round! Even in the snow and cold. It is good for the horses because it keeps them in shape and exercised, and good for me because I get out of the house to connect with these majestic animals. I ride hunter/jumper. My son and I also like to go ice skating and sledding!

  • Rachel D.

I like to snowball fight with my siblings.

  • Fareeba

I like to go skiing in the winter. Also, I get my dogs’ coats on, and take them out to walk and play in the park, just not in the frozen areas. They still like to go out when it’s cold.

  • Lindsay F

I love bundling my kids up and playing in the snow or taking walks. No bad weather with the right clothing :)

  • Krystyna Meade

I love to hike! I live at the base of a popular trail here in San Diego called Cowles Mountain. When it is cold out, I bundle up my 18 month old son and put him in our Osprey carrier. Up the mountain we go!

  • D.Roc

Yeah! Let’s hear it for cold Chicago winters! I love to ice skate with friends or family at Millennium Park right off fabulous Michigan Ave. Then, I hustle down to one of the many veg-friendly restaurants nearby. Or we grab a nice hot soy chai at one of my favorite tea establishments.

  • Jennifer Albertsen Blonsley

This jacket would be perfect for my upcoming 250 mile John Muir Trail hike !

  • Serena

I love to hike, whether it’s snowing or not. My kids and I also like to build snowmen and snow forts!

  • Jess

I enjoy building a snowman with my family. :)

  • Phyllis Grogan

My Activities are also my job. I went back to school to become a vet tech. I am studying now to take my boards. I work at a day care resort for dogs and other animals, so I do get to spend a lot of time playing and watching the dogs outside winter, spring summer and fall in day care. It is a lot of fun seeing shy dogs make new friends with people and other dogs.

  • Liz

what I like to do in the cold is take my dog for a long walk he loves the snow.

  • Erica Stearns

Outdoor winter activities? I love just doing a walking meditation in the snow. There’s something so magically calming and peaceful about a good heavy snowfall.

  • jtlittlelong

We enjoy going to the mountains and going sledding, building snowmen, having snowball fights, trying to walk in the frozen lakes, etc. Then we head home for warm ‘fires’ and homemade hot chocolate!!! (I’m the only vegan in my family).

  • theresano

We love skiing, sledding or just walking.

  • Sof

My three year old son and I were just outside a few minutes ago dancing in the hail! These cold weather experiences are quite rare here in Southern California, so we truly enjoy living in the moment when the opportunity rises!

  • Julie Messier Brigante

These are beautiful! It is so hard to find vegan winter jackets that are warm!! I live in Vermont, so I know! I love to hike with my dogs, no matter the weather! I am a preschool teacher, so I am also outside playing with the children every day! I used to ski, but since knee surgery after a ski fall, I leave that to my son!

  • ravenj

Hi! First of all, this is awesome. Thank you! Second, I have two very young kiddos so I will have to say sledding of course and making snow tunnels/caves and ice skating is SO much fun. I used to also ski so I’m looking forward to the day when we can all do that together as well :)

  • Julie Anthony

How nice! Both coats look super cute and warm. My favorite winter activity is snow skiing. I also love to hike in the winter.

  • Jenna Cameron

I live in Northern California so it rains a lot. My favorite rainy activity is running because it’s just so beautiful outside when everything is wet. There are a lot of hiking trails near me with really tall trees that act like a rain cover so it’s really peaceful.

  • Tiffany Norris

Walking the dog–but just a little bit! So refreshing to get out even for a few minutes. 😀

  • Tina Knezevic

I love go antiquing, estate sales and indoor flea markets during the cold winter months with my handsome hubby! It’s a great way to enjoy life in the cold weather!

  • Anne Perry

I like to take walks and go ice skating.

  • Kelly

I love to go for walks during the snow, I just love the way it glitters!

  • Lea

I like to go sledding, snowball fighting, and make snowmen and snow angels with my family.

  • Riya O’Connor

To be honest, my favorite cold weather activity is staying warm!

  • Shoegirl19

I love to go snowshoeing! ! I also take my dog on long walks….winters in New England can get chilly

  • Julie Brydon

When it’s cold or snowing out, I like to stay in and make hot chocolate (vegan, of course) and read a good book!

  • Danielle Warren

Hello lovely! I enjoy playing outside with my kids, building snowmen (usually Olaf) and taking them sled riding. My son is 5 and my daughter is 2. I also inspire friends and family to eat vegan food by posting photos of my easily prepared foods and loose recipes to my insta account, veganyummytummy. I’m so happy I came across your blog!
    Xo,
    Danielle

  • Logan Barrett

I have two rescue German Shepherds who are almost 12 years old. They are slowing down a bit, but we just moved to Wyoming (in the middle of a blizzard right now) and when it snows, they seem energized and want to go out and play in it – so my favorite activity is going out and playing in the snow with them.

  • Ashley Erin Weichert

When it’s cold outside, I love to bundle up and go for walks… noticing how the trees look different in the snow and listening to the different sounds of nature at this time of year. I love to snowboard but I am terrible at it, still fun though!
Probably my favorite thing is to make snow angels with my family:)

  • Amy Z.

I love skiing and sledding when it’s cold out!

  • Catherine Roccaforte-Probasco

This is by far the best “From My Closet Giveaway” because it’s so easy and natural to share what activity I like to take part in when it’s cold out or snowing!! I simply dress warmly, put on my vegan boots, and I power walk IN CHICAGO, where you were!! All I need is a new winter coat, or two…. :)

  • Amy Wymer

Snow ball fight are always fun! I love the way my son laughs every time he gets me.

  • Brandy Lynne

Sledding, building snowmen, walking my husky…

  • Daisy Snyder

hi Alicia!! My name is Daisy !! So I have 3little kids 7,5, and 2 ..we like to get our rain boots on and stomp puddles !! The kids think it’s the most amazing thing and they think I’m the coolest mom ever !!!!:)) I love it and all the memories created doing it!! Thanks for this opportunity!! Can’t wait to see the movie who gets the dog .(written by my cousin Rick!!) we are super excited about it I already have a premiere party planned with all my friends!!! Yeahhhhh <3

  • Nicole Regina

Honestly, I would just love the opportunity to be able to have a new winter coat, instead of a hand-me-down from my little sister (though I am incredibly grateful for the ones she gives me!!). I have five kids and like to get out and get fresh air and go for walks, especially with my two youngest guys. ☺

  • Amanda Williams

My Columbia coat is about 6 years old & I’ve been contemplating getting a new 1. I’m a mailman (woman), so this coat would keep me warm out there on frigid days. Also, I am slowly learning to hike. I got boots & a hydration pack at the holidays, so this coat would be what I need to boost my dream of being outdoors.

  • Madeline

I love just taking a walk in the snow and really slowing down to appreciate its beauty. :)

  • Sarah Smith

I love to go on walks and take pictures when it’s snowing or right after it has snowed. I love seeing the untouched part of nature before the roads turn to slush and everything turns brown.

  • Danielle Jones

I own a small lawn care biz in central Michigan, so when it snows I clear driveways via snowblower and shovel. When I come home I play in the snow with our 3 rescue pitbulls and 1 German shorthair pointer!

  • Susan

I adore hiking when it’s cold out! It’s often quiet and serene. There’s beautiful birds to hear and spot. When it’s cold it’s easier to pick up trash people have rudely left by trails (like coffee cups) because there’s no crowds. I 100% prefer winter hikes, safely, to spring or summer.

  • inkstercat

I live in Houston, which is scorching hot most of the year, so I love cold weather! My favorite thing to do during cold months is to travel to snow covered mountains (neither exist in Houston) so I can hike and snowshoe. I mainly just love to be outside when it is crisp and cold.

  • Julia

The only time we really see snow is in Tahoe, where I’ll wake up early and go explore the fresh coat in the morning with my little brother before going skiing!

  • Necole

I love ice skating when it’s cold out. We have two outdoor rinks here in GA in the winter. I’d love to try my hand at skiing soon!

  • Cathie Morgan

I love to take walks and hike with my daughter, I use the time to bond and teach her about nature, kindness and respect for the earth and all its creatures. I hope I can inspire her and her friends to be good stewards of our planets and spread kindness everywhere they go.

  • Laura

I grew up in Ohio and my favorite thing to do in the snow is go sled riding with my kids and make a snowman. That’s the best thing about winter!!

  • Anna Haggerty

we love to play in the snow, sledding, building snowmen, anything . It doesn’t snow much here but when it does we are playing in it non stop :-)

  • Achlee Johnson

I love the cold. My favourite cold weather winter activity, besides staying indoors, is going for walks in the crisp cool air with a warm hand to hold and a warm coffee in the other. I have a 3 year old that just loves to be outside no matter the temperature and this jacket is perfect for our cold weather explorations! Thank you for the opportunity!

  • Kelly Smith

    Sledding!

  • Chris Bunce

Walking at the pond with my wife and three 15-year old coonhounds Flint, Jadie, and Jasmine, and the kids especially love it when new friends come over to pet them and love on them. Luckily this winter has been the mildest ever!

  • Mary

I love to take walks with my boyfrien and play outside with my pugs.

  • http://thoughtandsight.com/ Holly — Thought & Sight

It’s been awhile since I’ve been snowboarding, but I’d love to get back out there! Till then, sledding is definitely my favorite winter weather activity :)

  • Amanda Leets

When it snows I like to go to the hot springs in the mountains, and do snow yoga afterwards :) My yellow lab Maggie dog always comes along for the treks as well.

  • Alaina Nicole

Love to go skiing here in Colorado as well as hike with my husky ☺ recently have been taking up rock climbing and all activities are best powered through my vegan lifestyle!!

  • Lisa

Living in parched SoCal, the recent rain has been cause for celebration: splashing in puddles with my two kids, throwing rocks into the flowing creek, getting wet and muddy, looking for worms & other creatures coming out in the wet weather, counting the seconds between lightning and thunder…having kids that enjoy getting out in the cold and rain helps bring out my inner kid again!

  • p a u l a

Favourite thing to do when it’s snowing is play in my front yard (and build snowmen) or pull my young neighbours on sleds in the park behind our houses! But when it rains… I (if I can escape the demands of university) love to get out and run on the quiet streets and trails! Pure bliss 😉

  • Michelle Howe

I really enjoy curling up with hit tea and a book…. but after I play outside with my dogs! It’s so cute to watch them chase snow!

  • Maiah Lawrence

The activities I like partaking in while the weather is not up to my standards considering I do live in CA (we’re pretty spoiled) but there are days when its gets chilly, rainy, windy outside and those aren’t the best conditions when it comes to outdoor activities. What I enjoy is, painting, playing music, watching Netflix TV Series and cooking or baking delicious vegan dishes. Unless I feel intrigued to spend some time outdoors then playing in the rain would be part of my nostalgic childhood days :)

  • Heather

I love to go outside in the snow with my husband and throw snowballs and make snow angels! We have the best time!

  • Cali

    Hi Alicia,
How are you and your family?
In the winter months, if there is snow, I like to walk a little in my snowshoes, with my puppy. If no snow; I like to take walks to the beach/park near my home, with my puppy, to watch for marine life. Eagles have started thriving again in our area; so I watch for them too. Like Chicago, it gets bitter cold near the water. I lack a coat warm enough for inclement weather, so my time outdoors is very limited. Thank you for your consideration, Alicia. I love your work, your books, and your gracious personality. I wish you continued blessings, and continued success. ❤

  • Kasey Johnson

Walking my dog or jumping through puddles with my son.

  • RINAT

HI Alicia MY FAVORITE ACTIVITY IS TO BAKE COOKIES WITH MY SWEET GIRLS DRINK chocolate milk AND THEN ALL THE family IS watching MOVIE together:)!!!!!

  • Lizzy G

Tapping maple trees! It’s hard work and long hours, and the sap run can be very unpredictable, but here in the Berkshires it’s the sweetest success!

  • Elizabeth Findlay

I live in Wisconsin And I am not a snow bunny at all. Shoveling is my one winter activity and not a big fan of that one. I do enjoy walking the dogs on the beach in the winter because of the ice formations can be so eerie looking some years and of course the dogs love to just run. I make sure I am covered up good since the wind off Lake Michigan can be a devil.

  • melissa bell

I live in Chicago and we don’t call it the windy city by mistake!! It can be brutal! It can be so lovely when it snows though. I’ve been struggling to buy a coat recently because so many are filled with down. It’s nice to see that Columbia makes some vegan options. My family and I love to snow ski, ice skate on a neighborhood pond, sled and hike with our sweet dog, Pongo. My 3 kids don’t seem to feel the cold when they’re having fun so I’ve finally learned to wear more layers than they do 😉 This coat would be just right!!

  • Smittens1

    Going for walks!

  • Jason Lilly

I live in West Virginia, the Mountain State, and I love to hike. In the winter, the woods are so quiet after it snows. I love the solitude, and once I get to the top I love to take in the panoramic view of a snow-covered landscape. I also have four daughters and two dogs, so playing in the snow with them is always an adventure.

  • Amy Mitchell

In Wichita KS this year we actually didn’t get any snow!!! CRAZY!!! I even bought snow pants for myself and my youngest son so that we would stay warm this year while making snow angels. I put the pants away and we hope to take the kids snow skiing this year for the first time. We are pretty excited!!

  • http://www.theholisticherbivore.com/ Ashley Chew

I am usually an indoor person in the winter. A good book & some hot cacao. But I won’t pass up a chance to go sledding!! So much fun, makes you feel like a kid again!

  • Samantha Plotkin

This is the first year my little vegan baby is able to be interested in the snow. Seeing her laugh and try to catch snowflakes makes even our New England winters worth it!

  • http://delishknowledge.com/ Alex @ DelishKnowledge

I would love to win this coat! I just moved to the Midwest from California and am in need of a new coat that’s actually warm. It’s been a challenge to find a warm jacket that’s not stuffed with down. We’ve traded the mountains for the prairie, and I can’t get enough of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.

  • LaraReg E Olivia Muniz

Well as a mother of a almost 3 year old toddler, that is obsessed with Froze and and loves snowmans, our fun outdoors is to build snowmans on the few times we had snow here in Connecticut.
Nature exploration is our other fun thing to do. And before I became a mamma, Snowboarding was part of my fun during the winter time.

  • Julia Anne Kahn

Hello!!! I live in Boulder, Colorado where I am a student at CU Boulder and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (online). Here, I like to hike, go camping, and ski. I would say that other than my time spent in the library and sleeping, the rest of my time is spent outside. Next semester, I will be studying in Wollongong Australia where I hope to participate in many more outdoor adventures!! (Your video speech on IIN is by far my favorite one I’ve seen so far by the way) <3

  • Kristina Fuchs

Sunshine or snow – I just love to go for a walk with my dog!

  • tracypow

I live in north Texas, so not much snow, but we get ice like crazy. Even in the cold, I will head out to run with my dog. He loves the activity no matter what the weather. :)

  • Neil Naidoo

I love to curl up in front of a fire with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book. Bliss.
(Oh,and I am from South Africa; wouldn’t mind paying for the shipping though!). :)

  • Mia

    Walking with the family dog!

  • Aviva Shaw

I have three children and we live on the beautiful coast of Maine and spend lots of time outside in the snow! We consider our Winter to be three seasons long here, and this jacket would be an awesome addition to our outside adventures! We love to hike, sled, ski, snowshoe, ice skate and go ice fishing too!

  • Beth Clippinger

I love walking/hiking in the snow – the clean smell in the air and the crunch my footsteps make. It’s very invigorating and relaxing at the same time! Just took up snowshoeing this winter….it’s a work in progress, but I’m enjoying the journey!!

  • Brittany Kay Bates

I live in Nebraska, where it seems everyone’s favorite winter activity is hunting. My husband and I enjoy taking our four kids and our little Papillion on hikes, snow or shine, to show everyone the beauty of Nature and teach them why it is so important to leave the world around us as we found it. We teach them about what all the plants and animals are doing in Nature and why we don’t interrupt their Winter activities. “Tread lightly.” There is so much more to do, and we don’t have to harm anyone to do it!

  • Jacqueline Rufo

Living in Las Vegas makes our winter activities more of an adventure than when I lived in Michigan. Luckily Mt Charleston in a mere 45 minutes away where we can winter hike, ski and snowboard. When we want to make a weekend+ out of it, we head to Southern Utah to Brianhead Parawan, UT. I take my 14 year old son down all the hills on our mama & son snowboarding trips. He loves the bag jump as he flies on his snowboard into (looking through mother’s eyes seems like) 50 feet in the air while contorting in ways I don’t even see in my yoga class, to land land on a huge inflated bag. He was successful a few times in getting me to try the jump. SInce its a small jaunt we try to make it to Brianhead twice per month December-March, on the home weekends Mt Charleston is always fun.

  • Ashley Elizabeth

I live in Portland, Oregon, so we like to go to Mt. Hood to see the snow, and I like taking my dog with me to the snow or on hikes, the trails aren’t as crowded in the winter!

  • Sarah

I am not a huge fan of the cold, I love to be warm and snuggle up with a blanket in front of the fire! :)

  • Kelly

My husband and I just moved to Nashville a year ago. We lived downtown for about 6 months then we bought a Ranch on 4,5 acres North of Nashville. We love walking around the woods behind our house with our little white dog Puppy Sidders. It’s a dream of mine to start a farm sanctuary since I have so much land to do it on. Time will tell…until then we play and dream in our beautiful surroundings:)

  • BethanyK

My favorite winter activity is hiking with my snow shoes!

  • Sarah

I live in Wisconsin, which means lots of cold weather. I spend as much of my time as possible curling, meaning I’m willingly spending time on the ice! I wouldn’t trade it for anything; it keeps me active all winter long!

  • Fiona N

My favorite outdoor activities I like to take part in when it’s cold out are hiking and jogging :)

  • Leila Diaz

I live in Pensacola, Fl. Winters here are very mild and this one in particular has been very warm. I enjoy walking on the beach shore with my girls and my husband. My oldest enjoys running around the seagulls and biking down the pier. We spend afternoons just watching the sunset and it’s beautiful colors as the evening tarts to cool off As much as we enjoy our warm winters we do miss our snowy northern days. We are planning a family trip to the mountains to play in the snow! Our family is looking forward to it.

Hmm, I like ice skating, or walking around the neighborhood. I’m not a huge fan of the cold though!

  • Kristine Miller

Hi there! Living in Michigan, we get a lot of snow at times, and I remember making snow forts as a kid and declaring them my “clubhouse”. Now I delight in my children following in those same snowy footsteps and creating forts of their own. Afterwards, enjoying some hot chocolate with vegan vanilla marshmallows always hits the spot! Here is a picture of the kids’ latest creation.

I live approximately. 1/2 mile from the water, and I take my dog for a walk to the water, year round. I bring a bag with me, and wear gloves. to pick up any trash and debris (plastic caps, cigarette butts, wrappers, rubberbands), that can be carried out to the water, during rains, etc. I also look very closely for fishing lines, and hooks, that have been carelessly left on the shoreline, for animals, and people (children), to get hurt by; I gather up everything I find. I recycle items that are recyclable, and throw the rest away in the trash can. It is a never ending task, unfortunately.

  • Cindy Aiton

I love walking on wintry trails and partaking in snowball fights. 😉

  • Maggie

  • Debi Cole

Yes! Nutty ! But I am so cal born…now we have lived on the central coast of cali for nearly 36 years! But I get cold! And it has been gloriously raining this past weekend! We even got hail and thunderstorms!!!! So exciting! Does just being grateful for rain and watching it out the window be winter sport? That is my idea of a happy winter! Watching California heal!!!! And yes… I would love a jacket! Havent had one in a while sad to say! But bring on the rain and snow! Heal my home!

  • Sharyl Faganel

We live in a wooded suburb of Chicago. After it snows and the beautiful snow is untouched and hanging from the trees, I love to get my kids out for a walk at night. The stillness and the beauty of the snow makes for a winter wonderland and great refreshing exercise as well!

  • Jessica Miller

I love to go sledding! I use to all the time when I was little. So much fun!

  • Allyson Tice

i love to go sledding and build snowmen and forts with my kiddos inn the snow

In Minnesota it’s not always super delightful to be outside in the winter months. I do like to be warm and comfy when I do have to go out. Columbia is a great brand.

  • Abby

  • Deanna

I like to go skiing or snowboarding. I am lucky to live in Utah so close to mountains and ski resorts. I also like to take my dog to the frozen lake and watch her slide on the ice and have fun.

  • Sarin Skyy

I live in Buffalo, NY so we usually have lots of cold and snow. I kayak, yes even in the winter. I if course have the proper gear to stay safe. I absolutely love it. Nothing is more beautiful or peaceful than spending time out on the water. We also have ice bikes here so I like to use those in the winter as well. The bike has one tire and the other one is a blade and you peddle and steer that on the ice. Also love having hot chocolate and sitting outside by a nice fire even with the cold. Also, I partake in Buffalos Polar Plunge for charity. Iam also part of biking events that we do to raise money for charity. Us Buffalo people keep busy no matter how cold it is. :)

  • Heather Jenkins

I absolutely LOVE snow skiing!! I’m a Florida girl who who spends a lot of time in flip flops and tank tops. I travel to visit family in Colorado quite often so if anybody would appreciate a nice warm winter coat its me:) Being from Florida it’s very hard to find a thick VEGAN winter jacket. I would love to win so that I can stop borrowing winter coats from my aunt:)

  • cperel6196

I love to walk my dogs and the dogs at the local animal shelters; having a warmer jacket would most definitely help spend more time outside with them in the Chicago winters. I also like to spend time outside grounding myself with nature and stargazing.

  • Susan Chiem

Being in Chicago the winter weather can be a bit frigid but when the temperature is above freezing I like to go out and walk around at the local park district as well as reliving my childhood and go sledding on the giant hilltop!

  • Birdiebee

Our family loves to go sledding as well as ice skating when the weather is cold.

  • Michelle Tiede

When it’s cold or snowing one of my favourite things to do is head to Whistler with friends and go tubing!! Nothing puts a smile on your face like zooming down a mountain linked up with your buds. Otherwise a nice back up plan is a leisurely stroll along the serene seawall in Vancouver, BC. Followed up by a power yoga class of course! :)

    I ❤️ the Kind Life

  • Lisa R

I am a rock climbing mom of twins who climb. We go camping and climbing together at the red river gorge in kentucky. The best temps are when it’s a bit cold… climbers say ‘the rock is stickier when it’s cold’.
Their skills have surpassed mine and as they climb harder routes out there, they are peeling off their layers as I am adding on mine! It’s great fun, but a warm coat helps!
Lisa, from Chicago, thanks for reading :)

  • Helen

I love to go ice skating and snow boarding. Also tubing through the snow is a lot of fun.

  • http://theenchantedtree.blogspot.com/ tree

i’m not a huge fan of outdoor activities when it’s cold, but my kids love to go sledding and build snow people and snow dragons so i end up outside anyway. :) On days when the sun is out and it’s not too cold, we go hiking in the woods behind our house. There is something very beautiful and peaceful about the forest in wintertime when the trees are covered in ice and everything is covered in a blanket of snow.

I live in Chicago and after a big snow, my 4 yr old son and I like to get up early and go to a forest preserve and nature track. There’s nothing better than a fresh blanket of snow and the beautiful silence that a winter morning creates. We keep a log of all the tracks we see i.e. rabbits, deer, coyotes etc. He’s getting great at identifying them. He often finds a gift for mommy too like a pinecone or beautiful rock and I treasure them forever. Hope you and Bear loved our city as much as we do!
